Care of children
Decisions
Decisions affecting children's care arrangements can be difficult to navigate after separation.
What ends up being the right arrangement for one person, is not necessarily right for everyone else.
It is important that you get sound, tailored advice as you consider how your children's care should be managed.
Advice
Advice on parenting arrangements makes up a large part of the work that I do.
These arrangements are ones that can be privately negotiated with a Parenting Agreement then reflecting any agreed outcome, or, if necessary, determined in Court.
Non-urgent
If a non-urgent Court application is required (and unless special circumstances apply), then you will first need to attend a Parenting Through Separation Course and Family Dispute Resolution.
It may be that through this process the issues in dispute are resolved in full, or part.
Urgent
It may be that you have found yourself in a situation where urgent Court action is required or has been taken in respect of your children.
That could be due to the unilateral guardianship decision of one parent without consent, due to the impact of family violence or due to some other safety matter, including substance abuse.
If you have found yourself in one of these situations, please contact me so that I can advise you as to the next steps and whether your circumstances meet the legal threshold for urgent Court action.
Pragmatic, understanding, reliable and professional.
